Machine Gun Kelly has revealed a surprising new look.
The rapper, 33, took to Instagram to debut a large blackout tattoo covering almost his entire upper body and arms. "For spiritual purposes only," he captioned the photo.
Kelly said that 44 needles were used to accomplish the tattoo. "Been wearing a turtleneck for 3 months, taking the shirt off tomorrow," he wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday.
Kelly credited the tattoo artist Roxx, who also posted about the design on Instagram. "Never met a tougher one," Roxx posted.

Kelly asked fans on Instagram what they thought of the look, and many were brutally honest with their feedback. "Stupidest (expletive) thing I've ever seen," read one comment that received over 14,000 likes. Other fans were dismayed that Kelly had covered up his previous ink.
"I had an emotional attachment to those tats," one follower wrote, while another agreed, "I like your old tattoos they were like your history and so iconic."
Mod Sun, though, was supportive of the look, commenting on Instagram, "Proud of u brother, the change has been beautiful to watch." The tattoo debut came as Kelly also teased the release of new music.

In a 2013 interview with Untitled Magazine, Kelly said he started getting tattoos when he was 14 years old.
"Last year, I gave myself my first tattoo ever in Humbled County, when someone gave us a free bag of weed and I woke up the next morning, and I was like, 'Holy (expletive), I gave myself a tattoo yesterday. What an idiot,'" he said at the time. "It was the most punk rock thing I could ever do to myself. Now, I look at tattoos on my body and I kind of regret because it became really accepted in popular culture."
He added that when he "saw Adam Levine getting it," he wanted to "shoot myself."
Kelly's other tattoos include a Salvador Dalí painting on his back, which he told GQ he received in a "really gross hotel." In 2021, Kelly and Travis Barker revealed they received matching tattoos with the name of their new album, only for Kelly to decide to change that album's title. "My bad," he said.
